211 Virginia Celebrates 15 Years of Service to Virginians
ROANOKE, VA (February 11, 2021) – Today marks the 15th anniversary of 211 Virginia, a free, 24-hour information and referral service of Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS), provided in partnership with the Council of Community Services in Roanoke, Virginia. 211 Virginia is the Commonwealth’s largest information and referral network available to citizens for health and human services.
211 Virginia Receives AIRS Accreditation
211 VIRGINIA, a program of the Council of Community Services, has completed the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) Accreditation process. We are now among a select group of organizations that have been accredited by AIRS. The AIRS Accreditation process recognizes our information and referral program to a standard of excellence.
211 Virginia Receives a 5-year Accreditation through AIRS Accreditation Program
United Way of Central Virginia’s (UWCV) 211 VIRGINIA information and referral center has received a 5-year accreditation through the AIRS accreditation program. The AIRS Accreditation Program is the only credential specifically geared for programs engaged in the specialized field of information and referral (I&R). It measures a programs organizational compliance with expected practices within the field as defined by the AIRS Standards and Quality Indicators for Professional Information and Referral.
